Geometry

First we used sticks to make 2D shapes. 2D shapes have length and width.
We tried to name our shapes and then count how many sides and corners they have. All 2D shapes have 1 face.


We tried to make some 3D shapes. 3D shapes have length, width and height. We tried to name our shapes and then count how many corners, edges and faces they have.
Did you know that a cube has 6 faces, 12 edges and 8 corners?
Did you know that a cylinder has 2 faces, 1 curved surface, 2 edges and no corners?
