Transition Days

We have been having a great time in Tautoru getting to know each other and our new base group teachers.
Today we had to fill in a chart which was "All About Me", with something I am proud of, something I would like help with next year and something I would like to know more about.
We will use these to inform our learning for next year.

Last Friday we made flowers to decorate our classroom ready for next year. We used pastels to blend our two favourite colours. We worked with buddies to help follow the instructions and the cutting out.

Goal Setting

We are preparing for goal setting meetings. We need to make sure that our goals are SMART goals.

Watch this clip that explains what SMART goals are:

Goal Setting Day: Nic and Hamish's Base Group

Today is Goal Setting Day at Worser Bay.

We made an imovie about goal setting.
First we wrote a script for our movie.
We then had to check if our script was good for a movie.
Just to make sure our movie wasn't boring we added a few actions.
We had to find out who wanted to do what in the movie and make sure everyone was included.
Then we started to record.
At the end we added music and audio to the clip.
Then we shared the movies to the whole class.

Student Led Conferences Photo Gallery

Students have been sharing their learning with their parents at their student led conferences. It has been great to see our learners being so confident about sharing their thoughts and reflections about what they have been doing at school!

Learner attributes - goal setting & reflection

In the morning we have been setting a goal around the learner attributes (I am a thinker, I am connected, I am a goal setter and I am powerful) then in the afternoon we have been taking the time to reflect on the goal to see if we have achieved it. Here are some examples:
