Greetings from Taipei/ Taiwan
At Worser Bay School, we are excited to learn about different places and cultures. We have started a project that is linked to International Friendship Day (this is celebrated in Singapore to celebrate collaboration and connections with other cultures). Schools from across the world have signed up to share a short movie about their country. The movies will be posted on this site. Here is the first one from Taipei/ Taiwan:

Character Strengths
We have been talking about Character Strengths. We made some posters showing what they mean to us at school.
Bravery in Tautoru means trying new things, standing up in front of the whole school, answering questions in a big group and being strong when you fall over.
Perspective means thinking "I can get better at this some day" and when you think you're not good at something, just thinking that you will get better.
Perseverance means sticking at it, never giving up, not stopping and trying to keep doing your best.

Tane and The Baskets of Knowledge
We have been reading the story of "Tane and the Baskets of Knowledge".
Tane got attacked by all sorts of insects, reptiles and man eating birds on his way to the heavens to get the baskets of knowledge. We have been talking about how sometimes our learning is tricky and how we have to be brave and persevere, like Tane did, so that we can reach our goal.
Growth Mindset
Today we were given some challenges to try something new, using a tennis ball. We had to use our Growth Mindset, because although some of the activities were easy, some we couldn't do....YET!!!
But we kept trying!!!
Dragon Music and Dance
Dragon music and dance.
Today we used the character strength of "Creativity" to make up a tune with instruments,
using a Dragon score.
Then we walked around the school sharing our Chinese New Year dragon dance.
