The family picnic was lots of fun. It was great to play some games, old and new! It was great to see so many children, teachers and parents joining in.

Chinese New Year Dragon.
We have been learning about Chinese New Year. We watched a video about the dragon. Have a look here: Chinese New Year DragonWe are now creating our own dragon to display in the classroom. It is going to take some perseverance, because it is a big job!

新年快樂 Happy New Year!
This week we are learning and celebrating Chinese New Year! It is the year of Rooster.
We watched this video on Tuesday about WHY people celebrate this special event.
We will also learn a song called Gong Xi Gong Xi.
The title of this song, 恭喜恭喜(Gōng xǐ gōng xǐ) means "Congratulations, Congratulations". But in the song it has the meaning "Good wishes to you for a happy and prosperous New Year".
There are some events in the weekend in Wellington City such as fireworks and special art/music performances.

Team building
We are learning how to work in a group. We decided that we need to discuss, listen, share, compromise, reach an agreement and include others who are on their own. We had fun building all sorts of things in Autahi.
