I walked 6.6 km over the weekend from my house to the prison. It was long and tiring but fun!

Beach trip
Dear Parents & caregivers,
On Wednesday 18th March from 12.45 - 2.30pm we will be going to the beach as a part of our Inquiry.
After eating our lunch, the walking group will be doing a short walk around the beach to build up our KM's and the flora & fauna group will be sketching the flora and fauna they see on the beach.
We need parent helpers to walk the children to and from the beach and help out while we are at the beach.
If you can help please let one of your base group teachers know asap.
thanks!

We went to the tip today as part of our inquiry into what's in our backyard. We learned so much important and shocking information. Ask us about what we learned! We've all got some reading in our bags to share with you. We've started to come up with some good ideas especially around sustainability, so watch this space for more information coming about what Tautoru is going to do to take action around our rubbish problem!
We've been using nonstandard units to measure everyday objects. Maths is all around us. You can practise measuring at home while cooking, playing or just hanging out. How many Lego blocks long is your bed? How many Duplo pieces long is it?

Sunflowers
We were observing like scientist when we sketched the sunflowers.
The sunflowers felt spiky and crushable. The leaves were crunchy and hanging down like an old man with bad posture. The stems were furry and they had little prickles on them.
