Mussels

We have been getting up and close with mussels. The group dissected a mussel, identified internal parts, measured their length and identified their sex.

Planning our own trip to the rocky shore...

Today we went on a trip to Princess Bay. We planned our own trip. We were curious about what kind of creatures we would see. It was cold and windy and the sea was rough. The tide was in so we didn't see that much. We did see some sand hoppers though. It was fun to go on our own trip.

A big thank you to Janis for taking us.

Planning our own trips... Our visit to the rock pools

We are searching around in Princess Bay
Our group planned our own trip. We wanted to go to the rock pools at Princess Bay and Breaker Bay. We went there because we are thinking about the rocky shore in our inquiry. We saw fish and seaweed. We saw seaweed that looked a bit like a seahorse.

A big thank you to Jackie for taking us on the trip.
